Start with the batch that expires first
First-expiry-first-out, or FEFO, suggests the earliest-expiring eligible batch. When an operator selects a different batch, the override workflow records a reason.
This supports traceability. It does not replace the checks and professional judgement your team must apply when dispensing.

Expiry-risk and stock reports help a team review the stock that needs attention. Reports draw on recorded batch dates and quantities, so accurate receiving and regular counts remain essential.

What does FEFO mean?
First-expiry-first-out. It suggests using eligible stock with the earliest expiry date first. Batch data must be accurate, and staff remain responsible for their dispensing decisions.
Can I choose a different batch?
The batch override workflow allows a different selection with a recorded reason, so the decision has an audit trail.
Do retail shops need pharmacy workflows?
No. General retail and pharmacy share the core product, while pharmacy adds batch and expiry workflows according to the business configuration.
